Born and raised in Chicago, Ron Klipp grew up surrounded by Broadway music as he provided piano accompaniment for his father at various cabaret gigs in Chicagoland. He played trombone and sang in choirs throughout high school, played keyboard in a Chicago-based rock band, and played contrabass in the Chicago Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra.
After receiving his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of North Texas, Ron joined the music faculty at a Dallas college while working as a pianist and arranger in local recording studios.
Ron moved to Richmond Virginia to pursue his career in Information Technology consulting and management. At the same time, he worked as a local keyboardist and a composer, arranger and orchestrator of several local large-scale musical theatre productions. Since retiring from I.T. in 2016, he has been writing and performing music full-time. He is a member of the Dramatists Guild.
